Sachin Tendulkar is going to become the first Indian cricketer to feature on the cover of the Wisden Cricketers' Almanack.
Wisden Cricketers' Almanack, a cricket reference book which is published annually in the United Kingdom, announced that in a press release on Wednesday.
Tendulkar, 40, was also given the Bharat Ratna (India's highest civilian honour) by the president of India on Tuesday. Tendulkar retired from international cricket on November 16 last year, bringing an end to a 24-year-old illustrious career.
The 151st edition edition of the Almanack will be published in London on April 10, 2014. Michael Vaughan was the first cricketer to feature on the cover of Wisden Almanack in 2003.
Tendulkar is known as one of the most accomplished cricketers in the world and scored 15,921 runs from a record 200 Test matches at an average of 53.58 with 51 centuries.
