Fabio Borini: Roma to Liverpool for £11m
A player Brendan Rodgers knows well, having coached him as a youth at Chelsea and brought him to Swansea on loan in 2011. Liverpool are discussing personal terms with the striker, who has one Italy cap, and he will have a medical this weekend. Maxi Rodriguez last night left Anfield, joining Newell's Old Boys.
Junior Hoilett: Blackburn Rovers to Borussia Mönchengladbach for £6.5m
The Canada winger has held talks with Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle, Queen's Park Rangers and Reading in recent weeks but the lure of Champions League football has tempted Hoilett to Germany. The 22-year-old played two years on loan in the country earlier in his career and is expected to complete a deal this weekend.
Emmanuel Adebayor: Manchester City to Tottenham Hotspur for £6m
New coach Andre Villas-Boas has sealed deals for Jan Vertonghen and Gylfi Sigurdsson and is on the verge of signing the man who scored 18 goals in 37 appearances while on loan at Spurs from the Etihad last season. The stumbling block has always been Adebayor's £170,000-a-week wages; however, the Togo forward now appears willing to take a pay cut.

Mathieu Debuchy: Lille to Newcastle United
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has long been an admirer of the full-back, who was part of France's Euro 2012 squad. Newcastle's scouting team, led by Graham Carr, has been particularly successful across the Channel; Debuchy would become the sixth Frenchman in the squad.
Steven Pienaar: Tottenham Hotspur to Everton
The South Africa midfielder never really settled in north London and a return to Goodison Park, from where he moved on a free transfer only a year ago, seems mutually beneficial. The 30-year-old spent the end of last season on loan at Everton and rediscovered his form.
Going nowhere
Alberto Aquilani
All Liverpool have to show for the £20m they paid Roma three years ago is 13 starts but the Italian midfielder believes the appointment of Rodgers may revive his Anfield career. Aquilani, who has two years remaining on his deal, has ruled out a return to his homeland where he has had loan spells at Juventus and Milan since signing for former manager Rafael Benitez. "I would say the chances he could go back to Milan are impossible," Aquilani's agent Franco Zavaglia said. "Other clubs? I reiterate, he will remain at Liverpool."
